Fresh out of London, Amigos Burger and Shakes is a hip new start up by two chaps named ‘Kaz’ and ‘Wax’. Whether or not they are indeed their real names remains to be seen. But having passed this place on numerous occasions, I finally had the opportunity to give it a go on a cold, Christmas evening (the picture on the about me page was taking here, fact of the day for you).
The Amigo – Available as a 6oz, 12oz or 18oz, ‘The Amigo’ is perhaps their staple favourite. American cheese and burger sauce, with ‘the highest quality, halal meat’ you can find. And to be fair, it was pretty banging. Juicy, tender, and a glazed brioche bun. My only regret was going for a 6oz. It went down too easily.
If you’ve been following this blog, you will know by now I’m a sucker for the sweet potato fries, and will seek any given opportunity to upgrade. Today was no different. Being renowned for shakes too, I couldn’t not get one so went for a White Kinder Bueno shake. I’m pretty surprised they even offer these, but together, everything tasted oh so good.
It was a help yourself type setting, so you bowl in, grab the nearest free table and order at the bar. Almost like a fancy fast food setting, but the staff were all pleasant, with the food arriving pretty sharpish after ordering too (but not too quick to the point where you wonder if they’d banged it in the microwave).
You can tell this is a relatively new restaurant, with the décor and interior freshly presented. A brick effect wall holding a neon ‘burgers’ sign grabbed my attention. I sat there thinking how I want one for my own bedroom.
£4.99 for a 6oz burger. In London. The 12oz is only £7.99. This is a steal. This is cheaper than the McDonalds down the road, and of a far more superior quality. If you are planning a trip to Westfield, take a two minute walk down the road and go here. You won’t regret it.
ALL THE BURGER YOU COULD NEED.
